Presidents Message--

First, I would like to thank everybody who came out and brought toys for our Toys For Tot’s December Celebration.  It was a huge success.

Second, I would like to make you aware of an event we sponsored last year, and to thank those involved.

Members of the Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey, a 40 year member chapter of the American Culinary Federation, baked and donated 15 gingerbread houses for patients in the Stanley M. Grossman Pediatric Center and the Emergency Center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus in Atlantic City. ARMC’s Food and Nutrition Services Team, led by Paul Hoover, executive chef and also a member of the PCASJ, decorated the houses December 17 and 18. Hoover, David Goldstein, president, PCASJ, and Willie Lewis, chair, PCASJ, delivered the gingerbread houses December 22.

“Our goal was to create an interactive program which allowed chefs to participate using their talents and also to give kids something to have to bring the holidays to them while they were in the hospital,” said Goldstein, president, PCASJ.

Bakers included ACH Casino Bake Shop Chef Ulrich Lohs and Pastry Chef William Johns; Atlantic County Institute of Technology Culinary Arts Program Chef Instructor Guy Dunagan, a vice president of PCASJ, and his students; Bally’s® Atlantic City Pastry Chef Rob Harmon; Golden Nugget® Atlantic City Chef Bobby Hettmansperger; Resorts Casino Hotel Chef Jim Kirk and Pastry Chef Guy Anselmo; Showboat® Atlantic City Executive Pastry Chef Debra Pellegrino; Tropicana Atlantic City Chef Demetrios Haronis and Pastry Chef Terry Wargo; and Trump Taj Mahal Pastry Chef Eugene Ess.

Third, I want to wish all of our members and their families a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year on behalf of the board and myself!

Looking forward to seeing you all at our first chef’s meeting of 2012, at the Sheraton In Atlantic City on January 10.

Thank you,

David Goldstein,

Chapter President

Hope to see you al there!

A few of our programs...
To further the ACF's commitment to humanitarian efforts, the ACF PCASJ has developed the "Adopt a School" program Eating Healthy. In this innovative endeavor, ACF PCASJ chefs volunteer as "consultants" to the Program.

working with the Community Food Bank of NJ, Southern Branch. Atlantic County.

Atlantic City Aquarium Historic Waterfront Foundation, the Chef at the Shore event.   And Sister Jean’s soup kitchens.

The ACF PCASJ also works with the Boys and girls club.

The ACF PCASJ Certification Program has been assisting chefs to attain professional certification. Our goal is that one day, every chef in Our Chapter and in Atlantic City be certified. The future is clear -- ACF certified chefs will be perceived synonymously with high quality food and it will not be uncommon for customers to inquire about the certification of every restaurant's chef.

Join us! We welcome new members to our wonderful organization.  Above are just a few of the many programs the ACF PCASJ is committed to.  The Professional Chef Association of South Jersey Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF PCASJ ) membership includes executive chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, managers , culinary educators, sous chefs and cooks from Atlantic City premiere hotels Casino, country clubs, culinary schools, and restaurants.
